    Golf courses (ex, in Southeast Asia) typically proceed with rounds even in rainy conditions. In most cases, players temporarily take shelter from sudden downpours and then resume play. Therefore, unlike in Korea, cancellations or green fee refunds due to rain are not allowed. Please ensure you check in and follow the specific policies of each golf course (ex, rain coupons, etc).

    • It＇s where links golf meets inland golf. While it doesn＇t have the salty smell of the ocean breeze, the course plays and feels like a seaside links. The fairway edges are lined with stripes of heather. When the heather is in bloom in the summer, it＇s a delight to look at, but it＇s really challenging to play. The greens are deep and fast, with undulations that make it difficult to read your line and putt speed. The course favors low handicap golfers. Some of the carries across the heather are quite long, and if you don＇t hit the fairway, you often have to kiss the ball goodbye. There are some really strong holes on the Old Course. One of the best holes on the outward nine is #5, a 391-yard par 4 that requires a solid drive that must avoid the thick, tangled heather that lines the fairway. A mid-iron approach shot will find the green, which is well protected by bunkers left and right. The final three holes are particularly challenging, especially the 16th, a 510-yard par 5 that was well described by Bernard Darwin in his book The Golf Courses of the British Isles. In 1910, it was the 17th hole and played as a par 4. The first shot requires a long, straight drive between a bunker on the right and some particularly tenacious heather on the left, but it＇s relatively easy. The second shot is crucial. It＇s a full shot straight home to a flat green that sits atop a sloping bank. The surface of the hill on the right is carved into a deep, nasty bunker, and any ball that is sliced even slightly will surely, as fate would have it, fall into it. On the left is a heather that stretches almost to the edge of the green, and there is a very real possibility of a much more painful death in the heather while avoiding the bunker on the right.
