    Golf courses (ex, in Southeast Asia) typically proceed with rounds even in rainy conditions. In most cases, players temporarily take shelter from sudden downpours and then resume play. Therefore, unlike in Korea, cancellations or green fee refunds due to rain are not allowed. Please ensure you check in and follow the specific policies of each golf course (ex, rain coupons, etc).

    • The course was laid out by Mr. Herbert Fowler and his partner Mr. Simpson, and they have done a good job with a difficult task. One thing that is somewhat novel about this course is that it consists of three rounds of nine holes. Many clubs have an 18-hole and a nine-hole (main course and relief course), but here the three circuits of nine holes are separate entities, all starting and ending near the clubhouse. Players can choose which 18 holes they want to play, and they can ring the changes as they like best. Another interesting thing about the course is the ingenious way the architects overcame the challenges of the hilly terrain as much as possible. It is obviously very difficult to create a good putting green on a steep slope. When golf architecture was in its infancy, a delightfully simple plan was adopted - to roll and carve out a patch on the side of the slope, so that the putter would be as far as possible relieved of an awkward predicament. If he is at the top of the slope, he has nothing to do but to hit the ball to the bottom, sacrifice a stroke to gain a strategic position, and then launch an attack on the hole. The next step was to make a protrusion in the nature of a gun platform on the side of the hill. A steep drop on one side and a back wall on the other made for fairer, but still very tedious and monotonous play. The difficulties of the gun platform can never be completely overcome, but at Woodcote they have been overcome as far as humanly possible: so many skillful bends have been made in the greens that there are no sudden walls and cliffs, and each green has its own character.
