    • Located midway between Bognor Regis and Brighton, Worthing Golf Club is close to Sisbury Ring, an Iron Age hill fort within the South Downs National Park. Worthing Golf Club dates back to 1905, when Harry Barden designed the club＇s initial 18-hole layout. Shortly after the First World War, Harry Colt was commissioned to redesign the course, creating hole number one (the lower) inside a valley and hole number two (the upper) on a ridge, with each track extended to 18 holes. Of the two layouts, the lower course is the more challenging, featuring a tough hole that plays just before a turn in a valley called Deep Bottom, while the upper course offers panoramic views from Beachy Head to the Isle of Wight. Highlights of the lower course include the 122-yard 9th hole (the shortest of the par-3s, with an elevated green surrounded by sand), the 447-yard 12th hole (stroke index 2, outside the left boundary of the fairway), and the 394-yard 18th hole, which plays around a bowl-shaped home green.
